I never thought about a chain as being dangerous when it comes off. I simply thought they fell off.  I wonder how often they actually fail in that manner and cause crashes. Has anyone ever heard of a shaft drive failing in a manner that caused a crash or near crash type scenario? Just wondering.

One other thing brake fluid absorbs is paint. Take extra care to protect your front fender, gas tank and headlight areas from drips of it.  My buddy was helping me and put the reservoir cap on the headlight case and I ended up having to repaint it. It works as fast as paint stripper.  Mike Sen
