So, I got a little impatient and decided to get all crafty. Cut down the original terminal boxes for consistency, shimmed the short one so it wouldn't flex away from contact and fabbed new contacts. Brake light, turn signals now work. Still chasing horn issue but i'll get it.

Thanks Matt, I was thinking about that just this morning. I might go ahead and repair it that way, install, and swap out the new cover later. Also, I learned an important lesson about paying attention to what you read in the manual. The 14-17 foot pound torque spec was for the "cylinder head"

Spent most of the morning buffing out the valve cover for the 84 CB650sc. Sooo shiny. Cleaned all my mating surfaces, applied the appropriate amount of Hondabond HT, laid in the gasket and positioned the cover. Double checked the torque specs for the 22 bolts, 14-17 foot pounds. Lets call it

I found what i believe to be the perfect match engine for my 1984 Honda CA659sc. Strangely the valve cover on the new engine has a additional flange that juts off the back right side of the cover. It doesn't appear to attach to anything. Might it have been from a different model. All other
