Ok I have searched and can't find any info. Suggestions on what to line the
speedo with? 1984 700S. It squeals sometimes and I am fairly certain it is not
the cable. I tried graphite to no avail.

Thanks. I will try that but the noise goes away when I stop completely and has
only returned once. Not every time. A little harder to troubleshoot that way,
so I think I will lube it anyway following your advice. Thanks again.

Ok, guys. I finally got my Miami bike (700S) home. It made a loud noise which I
believe is the speedo at the dash. Is there a way to lube the speedo? If so,
with what?

Only issue I had was when I was putting it back on, it was hard to raise the
forks up high enough to get the axle to slide through. Ended up getting my
brother to push down on the rear frame hard enough to sorta balance the
weight, so I could change the height up front and line up all the holes.

If you have a car jack, you can put it below the pipes (with a piece of
wood, much better), and then you can raise the front of the bike enough to
do the job.

Hey all,
I have an '84 700SC and during the winter I noticed what appeared to be a
leak around the front left brake caliper. After some investigation this
past weekend, I've ruled out the brakes, but it looks like the grease stain
is coming from the speed cable or the bearings. How easy (or diff
I have recently purchased a 1983 Nighthawk 650 and I love the bike. I am
currently riding it daily and slowly fixing minor problems, however I have one
that baffles me. My speedo does not work, I checked the speedo with a drill and
verified it workedso the next step was to purchase a new cab
So does Coles Hardware
