You could just run a hypervisor and install windows xp as a virtual
machine running on your linux machine.
Another option of course is dual booting
Just another problem of people in control wanting to wield their power

Perhaps you could tell them how to save on windows

I have a number Linksys WRT54Gs router / WiFi units.
Would like to turn off the DHCP, hence turning these boxes into a
switch / access point for the network. From what I understand you can
not do that with the standard firmware , but it is possible with Tomato.
Am I on the right

One thing to note on the WRT54GL is that the ehternet switch is 10/100, in
other words, it is NOT gigabit. This caught me by surprise and I had to do
a bit of rewiring on my home network to take the router out of the main

We have a WRT54G2, the no-external-antenna black box one. It does just

From a hardware perspective, the wrt54g has a single ethernet port
behind a tagging switch. Packets are tagged with the port # when they
come in, and the kernel has the ability to then create virtual
interfaces based on the

Is this the area that I am screwed up on?
Setup
Advanced Routing
Operating Mode = Routing.

Connected into the router.
BUT, I think I have just found the answer. After testing and
writeup, I will report. (Very simple).
Thanks. It sounds like LUKS is the answer. They simply want laptops to
have whole disk encryption incase they are stolen so no sensitive govt
data gets out and it becomes a big news story, etc
