Well, if there was correct kerning in the font, then ConTeXt
could at least attempt to do the right thing. As is, all efforts
in this area are wasted because not even the font itself is
right. Until that is fixed, there is no gain to be had from
fixing the current status quo (the font should also

Taco,
I hate doing it, but I have to disagree ;-) I was trying to fix this
kerning issue for one of the (commercial) fonts I'm using often. If
ConTeXt doesn't handle this kerning issue right, there is no
incentive to correct the situation because nobody gains anything from
improvements. So

I have made a small document in order to show you issues I have to face

Ok. Thomas, can you try the definition below with a font that
has correct kerning? (you have to set \smartquotationfontstrue

Hello Renaud,
I usually hang around in #ConTeXt at Freenode, and, say 99.9% of the
time since last summer there has been nobody there. However, recently
people started to show up. We were three some day ago.
My client lillpelle is usually active. But now I am at work...
See you soon!

I would need to typeset some rather simple reaction equations. I do not
need the structural capabilities of PPCHTeX, just something simpler. The
thing I am writing has something to do with physical chemistry, so I
need mathematical equations, as well.
Of course, the natural way to do this:

Stupid me. Just by leaving the \placeformula out. (Maybe I should go and

You need an irc client in order to log in and chat. I'm a beginner in
irc and I use the BitchX client (linux). For windows, there is mirc, etc.
It seems interesting to me to have

Hi Hans, all,

the pertinent solutions due to #context will be reported to the mailing
