We use hounddog. They provide a central hosted monitoring agents on
client servers or desktops. Dashboard and email alerts etc , can
config 5 10 or 15 min checks throughout the day. Plus seperate daily
checks for av backup disk space etc. They are constantly adding new
features like service start
How about making the icons read only so they cannot delete? With Citrix and
PNAgent icons that are deleted reappear once they refresh or logoff from
desktop or published apps.

Looks interesting, as a SAAS solution. Any idea how much? They want me to
fill out a form for a price guide. Im sure theres lots of different things,
just trying to get a general idea.
I see the new Servers Alive has a 'remote agent' feature. Looks promising
too, an 800k service taking 2mb ram to
Off the top of my head I cant remember,
We have 15 different customers running approx 22 servers being monitored
with hounddog.
The costs vary depending if you want 5 or 15 minute checks, how many
servers, client confidence notes etc.
We have some customers getting notes.

I believe your are correct I need to check that on mine when I bring it back

Hey before you blame Microsoft on this one it is listed as an optional

couple of cages. The guy asked me for some lights and action to put in to
show investors and such. I was looking for maybe some rack mount
environmental device monitor or something.
Nothing too expensive its mostly just
I believe APC has a bunch of actual functional stuff here. You could probably

put your switches in there, making sure not to block the lights with the

And if you have to, setup a box with multiple multiple-port nics ( like the
adaptec 4 port ethernet adapter ) assigning each their own IP, and then

I was going to suggest that you go to either Autozone, or some other auto
shop, that specializes in tricking out either a car or truck. Find some blue
or purple flouresent lights, the ones that you put under a car to make
appear as if it were floating, hook that up to a 12vdc output and string
Haha I like the car/ghetto ride idea actually.
Maybe I can wire something that connects to the led light of the dells and push
out some ‘activity’.
I will have to keep digging it sounds like. I mean it would be nice if the
items had an actual function. Right now I dropped on the firewall
