I was thinking of just installing 2.6 SP1! Is there a way to find out what
version is currently installed. Since one of the version might not be
uninstallable then it would be safe to just re-install the existing
version?

yeah, someone reffered me to it in a previous posting and i downloaded it.
It said the nearest version that it see is 2.6 SP1 so I am downlading the
update now and hope it remedies the issue. It should since it seems to
have part of the 2.6 2.6 SP1 installs.

it on Windows 2000 using the latest SMS service packs but what about
