Is anyone using MS Endpoint protection, I'm thinking about switching from
ESET, for 325 users.
Anyone happy / unhappy, recommend not recommend?

I'm using it here, but in a pretty limited scope for the time being. We're
migrating from Novell to Windows AD, and we have SCCM setup in the new domain,
along with about 30 or so servers, all with FEP installed. Client installation
is extremely quick and painless, once the SCCM client gets
Lots of folks are migrating and getting positive results.

Do you have SCCM in place already? That's probably the biggest barrier IMO
as it's not a next, next, done job and is, arguably, overkill if you just
want to deploy Forefront.

Thanks Rod, I've seen their website crop up before. No mention of pricing
though which always has me wary.
It looks interesting as we have ForeFront CALs under our licensing scheme, but

Yeah.particularly with something as comprehensive as ConfigMgr, take it

We recently updated our VMware servers to update 1 and immediately had
issues on at least 2 of them with MS Forefront. The VMs slowed to a crawl
and we ended up removing FF from those VMs.
We're migrating to VIPRE and want to know if anyone has experienced similar
issues with vSphere 4.0 Update
Did you also update the VMware tools on your VMs?

Yes, got them done, too. The machines took about 20 minutes to reboot and
would stop serving until FF was removed.
Contacted MS and was informed they don't support Server 2008 R2 in virtual
environments

I've looked but cannot locate a means of modifying the Forefront client icon

Is there such an option that I've just not yet found?

Not that I ever was able to find but I did not go into the registry. You
could just turn off the icon all together but I don't know if that is what
you want.

I don't see where that option exists, either. I have two checkboxes:

exchange, sharepoint and the CIO wants to get rid of the existing
products and go one
, the exchange
component is only for 2k7? Will it work on 2k3?
Thanks

Tim, thank you for that information, I'll read the docs and see what decision I
make on the product. As for consoles, that's alright as well, just as others on
this list, one console would be nice, but we all use multiple consoles.
