I always have vendors produce the documentation they're using to calculate
the ROI, or provide me with an ROI calculator for getting business buy-in.
It's one of the things they need to be able to do, if they're going to go
around making interesting claims about business benefit.

If you have an environment where you're regularly asked to provide 5 TB with
little notice, the TCO of a SAN should be the least of your worries. More
to the point, I'd think this would've already been calculated.

That being said. TCO has many components besides purchase price. You need
