biggest benefits
biggest benefits to *me* of MP3 players
HIGHLY portable compared to CD player and CDs
More fault tolerant, MP3 players do NOT skip when bumped or played on/near
vibrating surfaces
High capacity for music without interruption of changing discs

input, a wireless "sender" with a couple of wireless speakers, etc). I
just tend to find myself playing the original CDs instead. I can
understand the advantages of MP3 players (ie, many CDs, ability to mix

There are a couple good alternatives for ear-whatevers in battery powered
portable speakers. Email me offline and when I get home I can send you a
link or two. GF gave me one as a birthday present and it works pretty well

The user interface stinks, and most folks want more than 1 Gb anymore.

new at Best Buy, the other was a refurbished one bought from woot.com. I've
got another MP3 player that was the first one I ever had, it's a 512MB

What else would you ever use a call phone for other than to keep track of time?
I think 90% of the time that's all I use mine for. :)
