farm, s/s Montauk Highway, Montauk, this AM. Thanks also to Angus Wilson for
calling my attention to a Coopers Hawk, at that same spot, in the PM. Sometime
in between, I managed 2 C. Eiders on my own, during a "stop

An all day vigil at Sunken Meadow State Park that began around 8:45 a.m.
paid off late this afternoon.
Thanks to alert birders from Ithaca - Both the Pink-footed and Barnacle
Geese were observed around 3:05 p.m. as they flew into the back of the creek
amongst the phragmites.

Hello All, Kevin Nolan and I found an adult Northern Gannet carcass that
the tide had brought up just west of the Ranger Station this morning.A flock of
21 Snow Buntings made two passes within the hour.Good November birding,

(CGS), West End 2 (out to the jetty) and a brief stop at the Theodore
Roosevelt Nature Center (TRNC). The most noteworthy finding was a huge
raft of Common Eiders that spread on both sides of the jetty. We did not

I ran into Steve Nanz at Floyd Bennett Field this morning. He was
leading a trip for the BBC and told me that they spotted a Red-necked
Grebe earlier in the morning. They were at Plum Beach and the grebe
was on the bay traveling towards Sheepshead Bay. I headed back on my
bike and spotted
The ponkfooted and barnacle just flew into the marsh west of the
bridge where the Pink-footed was seen yesterday.

There was a male long tailed duck at the croton train station today. He was
pretty close to the shore and didnt seem to care much about the trains. Other
birds were Bald eagles, kingfisher, Buffleheads, Merlin and harriers.

entrance to Field five at Sunken Meadow state park today at 10:30am. I arrived
at the park around 8:30am and immediately coming in, saw the huge Canada geese
flock. I pulled over to observe the geese and found nothing

Yellow-billed Loon reported yesterday. There were a number of
