A quick walk through Sunken Meadow State Park yesterday morning produced my FoS male Purple Finch along with a few females, all of which were munching on hawthorn berries.  Sharp-shinned andRed-tailed Hawks and a Merlin were the only raptors seen.  A House Wren was also seeking shelter  against

This morning at RMSP Field 2 a diverse group of migrants were moving down the barrier beach. Highlights included sixty-five Purple Finch and twenty eight Pine Siskin. Decent numbers of American Robin (350), Red-winged Blackbird (125), and Yellow-rumped Warbler (750-1000, difficult to estimate)
