I was all over the North and South shores today: Jones Beach, Point
Lookout, Gilgo, Cedar Beach, Captree, Robert Moses SP, Lake Capri (West
Islip), Sunken Meadow SP, Centerport, Huntington Harbor, Cold Spring
Harbor, Oyster Bay, Bayville, East Beach (Glen Cove). I usually stay on
Guess I will add my two cents... Each day since Sunday, there has been at
least one Iceland gull. All birds have been first year birds, with the
exceptions being on Sunday, when a "darker" adult was seen with Tom and Gail
and later a second bird, this time a "lighter" adult seen by myself and

As others have reported, there has been a noticeable uptick in bald eagle
numbers and activity in the Lower Hudson Important Bird Area.
An hour before sunset this afternoon from Verplanck Dock in northern

We stopped by Belmont Lake State Park this morning on our way up to the north
shore in the hopes of seeing Derek Roger's Barnacle Goose. It took almost an
hour, but eventually we found the bird sleeping on the ice with Canada Geese.

There is currently a Graylag Goose among a sizable flock of Canadas in a field
at the corner of Town Line Road and Parsonage Lane in Sagaponack/Bridgehampton.
