Since no one posted a full report from Cupsogue yesterday, I should let you
know that Black, Roseate and Arctic Terns were all seen at the Cupsogue
flats yesterday. As you know so was the Elegant Tern, which was seen at
Tiana Beach down the road from Cupsogue.

I had to read your post a couple of times rub my eyes and read it again. I
don't know why you felt this was an attack on you or google maps for that
matter. Shai merely made a point that google maps would not be optimal in this
case and rightly so. The access points towards the Cupsogu
permit to get into the parking lot during peak beach hours.

The Ruff found earlier today by Michael McBrien has flown off from the
tidal pools area into the northern most marshes off the East Marina
and has not been re-found as yet. I'll post an update before I leave

year observed at Fort Tilden, it was still shocking to see that there are
no more dunes at Breezy. Some photos of what the beach looks like post
Hurricane Sandy are posted along with a few birds from today.

Not a single warbler seen or heard despite a long walk through the woods
covering most of the Kaplan Trail and Kettle holes. Of note were several Hairy
Woodpeckers, American Goldfiches (some coming into nice color) and a flock of
15 Rusty Blackbirds.
Perhaps, the best sight towards the evening
park.
In addition, we were treated to a singing Yellow-rumped Warbler and
Dark-eyed Junco.

I just received a report from Menachem Goldstein, that he was looking
at the Varied Thrush, left of the Nethermead Arch on the main running
trail. Good luck if you go.
