Date: Jan. 7, 2013 After frustrating birders all weekend the Snowy Owl has reappeared at Napeague. The bird is on Hicks Island visible from the boat ramp at Napeague. Also present were 30 Purple Sandpipers at East Hampton main beach. They were on the jetty 1/4 mile to the left. Happy New

Thanks to a raw-bird alert in Dutchess County, my wife and I got to see our first wild Snowy Owl. - and a very accommodating owl at that... never even had to leave the car! On top of a condo/apartment building in a large complex. Got the call just before noon... was still there at 1:00, just
