Reported earlier this AM in the sod field, near the intersection of CR 51 and

First spotted last evening by a photographer before flying off, the bird
returned today. As of ten minutes ago, it was foraging in long grasses
between the eastern slope of the grassland hill and the phragmites marsh,
between the two roads/paths that bisect that area. Best place to park is in

Cattle egret viewed and photographed today in Shirley Chisholm Park in
Brooklyn, on the eastern shore of the Fountain Ave. side of park, where
creek lets out into the bay.

The previously reported Cattle Egret reported by Jim Hayes this morning has
been relocated tonight.
It flew in from the south, headed north over the Oil City Rd Liberty Loop
platform and landed in the field by the hunting platform.
It then circled back over the platform, and landed (in NY), east

While trying to get in on a pretty much non existent migration flight at Fort
Tilden, I stumbled upon a Cattle Egret loafing on the soccer/rugby fields. This
one showed even less breeding plumes on its head than Rob Jett's Floyd Bennett
Field bird and looked more like John Young's bird from Van

Wnybirds text alert came through at about 415 pm with a cattle egret only a few
miles from home, so I loaded up my girls to head 10 minutes down the road for a
new county bird for me.
We found the bird at the reported location feeding in a pasture with two horses

The Cattle Egret was still present as of 2pm at Mt Loretto Unique Area, Staten
Island. The egret was seen near the vernal pond along the main asphalt trail
that heads south from the parking lot. Thanks to Larry Pugliares who found the

The cattle egret found by Bob Grover and reported by Ken Thompson at Argyle
Lake in Babylon was not present as of 7:25pm. Many dogs were present and quite
a few people were out walking around the lake, which may have sent it to a
quieter location.

The Cattle Egret found last week continues. It can be difficult to
see in the tall grass among the cows. To look for the bird go to the
Mecox Bay Dairy and Fairview Farm (Ludlow's) in Bridgehampton. It's
off Mecox Rd.

The Riverhead CAEG was not present at ~ 1015, as I headed toward the North Fork
Preserve and again was absent in the early afternoon, on my return trip home.
While at the preserve, I did get Great Crested Flycatcher and Blackburnian
Warbler, both FOY birds.

Relocated the Cattle Egret, previously reported by Eileen Schwinn, at
around 4:30pm today. The bird was a little to the East of the original
location, feeding in a field with a number of plastic greenhouses (which
probably concealed it from other searchers during its absence).

The cattle egret was present this afternoon at 5:30 on the north side of Sound
Ave in front of the 4 quonset huts. This is between Rte 105 and #4079 Sound

A Cattle Egret is currently been seen on Sound Ave., about 1/2- 3/4 miles west
of Route 105 (Briermere Farm location), in Riverhead. The bird is on the south
side of the road, on the lawn of house #4079, immediately east of Reeve Farm
stand. It has been at this location since at least 9AM. Ph

A mountain bike rider who has been assisting in efforts to restore the meadows
of Stillwell Woods Preserve in Syosset
alerted me to a cattle egret in the back field. It has apparently been
there since Saturday and is still present today.

Today, I had a cattle egret sitting on a rock trail on the south east side of
the landfill. It flew off towards the railroad area.

A few blocks away from my house there is a Cattle Egret feeding in an open
field right off of Elwood Road in East Northport. I passed it at 12:20pm and
walked In the door to type this message at 12:32pm. Also in the field was a

There was a Cattle Egret at Floyd Bennett Field this morning. I saw
if fly in and land in the Community Gardens; it soon flew off and was
then moving around to several of the fields, feeding. Left Floyd
Bennett at around 10:30am and the bird was still present.

The Cattle Egret found by Bobby Rosetti yesterday afternoon was present again
along the northern edge of the Robert Moses field 5 parking lot, between the
toll booths and the exit. It was not present for the first few hours this
morning, then was found around 9 AM. While walking along the board

present near the northeast corner of Field 5 at 5:30 this evening.
Present then at Field 2 were 6 LBBGs in a discrete flock: 2 near adults, a 3rd
Winter, and 3 juvs.

In the fading light today, I found a Cattle Egret in the creek standing in a
shallow spot in the midst of about 20-30 Canada Geese et al.
It was just west of the pedestrian bridge which is well east of the auto bridge
