Thanks. But how can I do it? I mean, how can I keep cache up-to-date?
If you could give me some hints on this issue, I would appreciate it too
much. Now we are just simply flushing the cache (to avoid an unsynchronized
cache).

Enrique Medina.

an I inform the cache?
Also, is there a way to do a massive update, I mean, call an update for a
collection where OJB would update all objects one by one?

Enrique Medina.

java.sql.Connection --> What happens with cache?
Because no OJB API is used, so it would became incosistent.
b) Using a QueryBySQL --> Does OJB manage the cache then? How is this done?
Thanks in advance,

De
understand what is causing this. What version of OJB are you using?
Maybe the anonymous field above is causing the problem? Not sure what OJB
does if access="anonymous" is not set, and there is no field in the class.
Also, you might like to change the name, as it isnt a valid java varia
limit to X, can I be sure that only X records
are retrieved from DB, even if I use a proxy? How and when does OJB retrieve
the rest of the records?
Thanks in advance,
Enrique Medina.

You're right with access="anonymous". The perfect solution was to set
access="anonymous" when my field is nested, so OJB won't try to instantiate
it until it gets to the reference, so there's no need to put the 'new'
within the constructor.

with OO design, as I am using 'relational concepts' instead of 'OO
concepts'. This is one of the problems of the 'impedance mismatch' and I
think the OO way to solve it is using OO design the way I sug

I would welcome any suggestions, critics and comments from anyone that has
worked with reference proxies and interfaces with OJB.

Hi Enrique,

Hi,
I've read the tutorial about how to work in a clustered environment,

its primary key. The result is an exception
from Oracle:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01401: inserted value too large for column
So it seems that OJB does not check for the length before inserting the
record. And my question is, what is the length attribute used for?
Thanks in advance,

D, as EJB do.
I would appreciate some suggestions and posible alternatives or
misconceptions I may have with this solution.
Thanks in advance,

Hi again and just one comment to my previous message,
setAttributes() is new to RC6, and substitutes deprecated setColumns() from
older versions ...

Not really sure what the problem is here. I will attempt to set up some
nodes here at the OSL over the next day or two and debug. What Web
container/OS are you using?

The debug output will show the cache events being handled such as read
and gets from the cache.

Can you add the a line to your/a log4j properties files that lowers the
debug level? It would look like:
log4j.category.com.opensymphony.oscache=DEBUG
