Your guess is correct. The Blue Flame Six was the early Corvette 235 with
slightly higher compression, "sporty" solid lifter camshaft, and triple
sidedraft carbs.

Virgil, the Blue Flame Six was used in the first Corvettes. I'm pretty sure
it was a 235, not a 216 ci. Interesting to note that Chevrolet first
produced a V-8 engine in 1917, but it only lasted two years before it was
dropped. No other V-8 'til the introduction of the 265 ci V-8 in '55.

Great info Tom. I had a 265 in a '55 I had many years ago. Comes under the
category of "why did I ever get rid of that one?". Everyone has a story
about the one they let go.
