You can use all of the traditional web application methods
(PHP, JAVA, ROR etc) to do this. We use Java in our architecture where
in we simple make a post call and retrieve the info in JSON format
which can then be parsed on the UI. Contact me if you need additional

In the future I recommend that you use a sub-domain in your
app URL. This will allow you to change the destination of your XML
without changing the URL. All you need to do is to change the
subdomain to point to a new IP/server.
