I just went though this myself a few weeks ago. I documented the process in a
few blog entries -
https://rebby.com/blog.php?detail=35 # contains exact hardware details
https://rebby.com/blog.php?detail=34 # contains install/config details (not
yet complete, still adding LU and iSCSI
Great! I wonder, how is it setup? All harddrives to
the mobo or to the SATA card? The OS drives to the
mobo? etc? etc?
This system consists of 8 drives. 3 are for the OS (in a mirrored
configuration) and the other 5 are strictly for storage. The MB actually has
support for 6 SATA devices on
I just thought that I'd post a follow up in this thread... I received this
hardware the other day and got snv_b85 installed on it. Everything works great!
I didn't test the audio but all other on-board components work as they should.
Thanks for your help!

I guess my search-foo is weak today because I can't seem to figure this out and
Google has been no help.
I created a CIFS share on my new NAS using the following method:
# zfs create -o casesensitivity=mixed -o sharesmb=name=storage -o quota=275G
tank/storage
# cd /tank/storage
# chmod
I must have been trying to hard or something. This is working like I need it to
now. Of course I've been sick for the past week so that's my excuse. ;-)
Anyway...
# zfs create -o casesensitivity=mixed -o sharesmb=name=storage -o quota=275G
tank/storage
# cd /tank/storage
# chgrp storage .

You
are you running?
This should be as easy as ALTER SYSTEM SET memory_target = 2g SCOPE=BOTH and
(optionally) ALTER SYSTEM SET memory_max_target = 2g SCOPE=SPFILE (if you're
using automatic memory management).

Too much memory!
My experience thus far with a MSI Platinum mainboard
is, with the xVM kernel you will need to trim down the memory with:
eeprom physmem=60
