I have always found the 'format' and 'partitioning' part of Solaris somewhat

This morning I successfully burned a DVD with GUI in SXDE, which is looking
very similar as in OpenSolaris. So this means there is something wrong in
OpenSolaris.
The next step will be trying to use cdrecord in OpenSolaris.

I've been running now for some time Solaris 10, SXDE and OpenSolaris on two
completely different desktop computers. They all perform extremely well.
If you really want to have something rock solid then I would go for Solaris 10:

No it's not the primary partition.
There is currently Mandriva installed (the only Linux that could drive

For me the most 'popular' ones from Sunfreeware are Gnuplot and Octave.
For Gnuplot for instance you can find the version under
/usr/local/doc/gnuplot/VERSION
So I guess for most of the installed packages it should be under: /usr/local/doc

When I first started my Computer it was connected to the screen through HDMI.
When starting installation for both Solaris 10 and Solaris Express DE the

After installation and applying the provided updates the HDMI connection works
