Installing GRUB on USB stick

I wrote this guide for installing GRUB on my USB stick. Maybe someone will find
it useful. Comments or suggestions for improvement are welcome.

Hi,
The output of the following command:
# svcprop -p inetd_exec network/rpc/smserver
should return:
/usr/lib/smedia/rpc.smserverd
That file is in pkg SUNWvolu
Is that correct? Can it be a typo in the xml?:

Hi Eric,
I've just installed the JDS CBE. Seems like a good start to create a common
build environment.
It would be great to setup a RPM repository with Solaris (or OpenSolaris)
src.rpms, that are specifically customized for Solaris (SMF, etc). Installing
them would of course place them in
I can package pretty much anything complying with Sun / SVR4 in under 30
minutes now (time to compile excluded, since that has to be done regardless
of the packaging system).
But you have created your own tools to do it and so have I. I have my custom

I've been playing with OpenPKG for a while.
What I don't like about it:

I'm sure this is necessary in multi-OS environment because everyone have
their own directory

Hi swalker,

Are you using apt4rpm with Solaris 10 and OpenPKG?
Having some trouble getting it compiled. Are there any other alternatives?

Hi all,
At the moment I'm looking for a Sun-way of building Solaris packages (Like
SUNW), with a proper build environment, but unfortunately there are too many
ways. I already have my own customized environment, but I prefer to use a
standard. The packaging guides at
