out of my league. Once sx:ce becomes solaris11 : the bleeding edge of Sun will
be solely opensolaris right??

OK then, what makes RBAC roles different from sudo roles, conceptually? I'd
love to know.

I think you've missed a lot of his earlier posts. He'd be happiest if
Sun killed Solaris and switched to *IRIX*.

Thank you for the permission, but I will stop accusing Sun of the "NIH
sindrome" when they stop
I would like to see the machine offer its own advice linking forum requests to

try or guide them to info or inform them what to do or report without someone
else having to answer a stupid question. I'd even consider h

Not unless they want to go backwards to old builds - there are no more
SXDE builds, and SXCE builds won't keep coming forever.

They tried to take SX:DE in the direction of GNU/Linux.
That's not what is needed. What is needed is a future Solaris 11, loaded with
compilers and made better by including a full stack

Is it really surprising a channel that has not been advertised has nobody on

I don't want to be going on #opensolaris and annoying the old school users.
They have a point.

I can understand that a lot of people are upset about the way Sun acts by
redirecting new people to #opensolaris. But I don't really understand how
people can react hostile towards Indiana users (never really saw that by the

I want to be clear here that not everybody on the #opensolaris channel is
hostile.
I have had some excellent assistance on the channel particularly in regard to a
wireless driver.
But the hostility to Indiana users does make one start to think that FreeBSD
might be a friendlier alternative.
One of the things I notice on the #opensolaris IRC is a lack of enthusiasm for

enquiries. A lot of people who are on the channel use Solaris Express Community
Edition.
I believe that the way to go would be to have a separat
