ldap_client_cred was empty. It now contains the lines
NS_LDAP_BINDDN= ou=people,o=mpia
NS_LDAP_BINDPASSWD= {NS1}5e10c2
'ldapclient list' gives this:
ldapclient list
NS_LDAP_FILE_VERSION= 2.0
NS_LDAP_BINDDN= ou=peop
