I tried to add a static route to the server but still wont work. Still have the
issue with Mozilla not going out unless I use the proxyserver IP and not the
name.

If numeric IP addresses work, but symbolic names don't, then the
problem almost certainly isn't routing. Instead,
I made some progress with this. I had the wrong proxy server name. However in
Mozilla I put the name in to the proxy server and use 8080 but it will not go
out. If I put the IP in and use port 8080 it goes out just fine.
The cmd line to install openoffice wont work either
Checked DNS forward
I forgot to mention I go the VirtualBox running now.
Still cannot connect to the web to install openoffice.org.

I may have tracked this down as some sort of authentication issue with the
proxy server. I am still wating to hear back from my proxy server support
person.

Not to sound stupid but how do i do that at the os level? Do you meen in my
/etc/profile?
I set it in the Mozilla setting.
I have downloaded the package from openoffice.org and that wont install either.
