Trying EON Storage 64 on a dl380 G5, I see that on the dl380 G4 it stops right
before configuring devices. So, should I use the dl380 G5? Well, when I run
echo | format on the G5 it detects no drives. Do I need to load drivers for an
HP Smart array P400?

My workstation is not on a UPS and experienced a hard-shutdown the other day
due to a commercial power outage. It booted up cleanly afterwards; however, my

any difference in speed. One thing to mention is that you
should allocate at least 768 meg of memory to the OpenSolaris VM if you can. It
is meant to work with 512 meg and upwards, but adding a bit more does make
things noticeably faster.

As the title says - I can't get virtualbox working on build 130 of OpenSolaris.
Is this a known bug - if so what is the bug ID? I would like this to work in

was a something like "drivername-disable=true" specified on the kernel line in
grub. They must have backported it to 128a from 129.

I'm trying to install a paravirtualized instance of build 127 (domU) on a
machine running CentOS 5.4 (dom0). I'm able to start the domU and complete
approximately 98% of the installation. During the final part of the
installation, the dom0 apparently panics. I say "apparently" because I haven't
some tools
will allow it).
Your best bet is to access the RAID through Linux and copy the data across the
network to Solaris 10. If you don't have a second machine you can install Linux
in a VM using VirtualBox within Solaris 10.

y it with the si3124 driver but I don't think it works. It definitely
does work with the pci-ide driver - I had it working before. I just didn't
configure it at install time, leading to my current difficulty. The driver is
definitely attached to the controller, since it appears in the p

You can delete all the lines with "e1000g" in them from the "/etc/path_to_inst"
file, then run "reboot -- -r". Make sure you type the reboot command exactly
like that: reboot, space, dash, dash, space, dash, lowercase r.
Be sure to back up /etc/path_to_inst in case modifying it messes up your

OpenSolaris once it is installed to a hard disk (or USB stick).

They can. If I can generalize, the LSI cards seem to present drives not in a
RAID array as bare drives with no configuration necessary, while the Adaptec
I've had great success with Adaptec and LSI SAS controllers with SATA drives
attached.
Two I'm using now are, off the top of my head, an LSI 3442e and and an Adaptec
3405. In the case of the LSI 3442e, I'm using it to drive 4 SATA drives on a
Dell SC440 because I found the Dell server's onboar
store the configuration for the access to the disk. Note that the VirtualBox
manual says that this feature is experimental so it would be best to back up
