OpenSSL & imaps/pop3s

2001-01-11 Thread Auteria Wally Winzer Jr.
This could be a little off-topic, but: I'm having difficulties getting imaps and pop3s to work. Has anyone on this list was successful? I've done everything from compiling OpenSSL-0.9.6 w/ imap-2000a. Placed all port entries within /etc/services as well as /etc/inetd.conf. The certs for the serv

Can someone provide an example of the -verify depth option for s_client. I'm trying to verify the cert/key and don't know what arg for the depth to use. This is what I have so far: openssl s_client -connect localhost:993 -verify Thanks. - Wally Winzer Jr. ___

Can someone on this list provide instructions on converting a cert (i.e. myfoobar.pem) into PKCS12 format? This is necessary in order to import keys within Netscape. Thanks. - Wally Winzer Jr. __ OpenSSL Project

Setting the bit to 128

2001-02-15 Thread Auteria Wally Winzer Jr.
Is there an option to openssl that enables you to set the bit to 128? I want to generate the cert using the CA.pl script, but by default it sets the bit to 40. I'd like to set the bit to 128. Can someone provide the syntax for this option? Thanks. - Wally Winzer Jr. S/MIME Cryptographic Sign

RESEND: Importing self-made CA's under RedHat Linux OS w/ Netscape

2001-03-05 Thread Auteria Wally Winzer Jr.
I'm having problems importing certs under RedHat Linux/Netscape 4.7. It bombs w/ invalid format, even though I've created *.p12 using pkcs12. Am I missing something? since this is UNIX do I copy the *.pem to *.p12? Thanks. - Wally Winzer Jr. BTW, importing pkcs12 into Windoze works as expected.

You can also download the ANDIrand pkg for Solaris 2.5.1 - 2.8 SPARC as well as 2.5.1 - 2.8 x88pc. This supports /dev/random and dev/urandom. Works like a champ: Author: Andreas Maier URL: http://www.cosy.sbg.ac.at/~andi/ - Wally Winzer Jr. Michael Sierchio wrote: > Scott Armstrong wrote: > >

No, not the right solution. That's another I/O pipe between applications. Just download either the CAC-Washington's IMAP or Cyrus-IMAP that supports pop3s. Just my $0.02 worth. - Wally Winzer Jr. "Reddie, Steven" wrote: > I think you want stunnel which allows you to setup an SSL link to your
