When I used gnomesu in the past (under 9.3 and SLES), if I typed gnomesu, I would get a dialog box pop up and it would ask for the command to run and the password. Alternatively, I could also enter "gnomesu 'command'" Now I have 10.3 and I see a difference. (Granted things change over time.)

Boot in runlevel 3. As normal user 'startx' and it works first time. Logout, back to CLI and 'startx' again lock system hard. Only power switch works. It happens with 2 different nvidia drivers, latest NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-100.14.19-pkg2.run and NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-9762-pkg2.run compi

I am using nis, ypbind, ldap, and nfs automount (amd). When I try to login to the workstation using KDE desktop session it takes for ever to login and load my desktop. However when I use GNOME, login is very fast and the desktop loads almost instantly. Any idea why/what is wrong with KDE? R
