nv driver) then immediately after (that staying in that x session)
sax2 works i.e. f
Go to nVidia's website and add their repository sources to your system.
Then install the recommended packages.
Worked good with my 7200 xD

Thanks for that. The installer link I gave basically does exactly
that. I have also done what you stated (i.e. add the repository
manually and install packages.) However, whatever I do X crashes when
using the nvidia driver.
The very strange thing is if I now run sax2 it detects the nvidia ok.
