May i ask U to give a word or two on the topics U mentioned , i.e.
"How to detect, diagnose, and recover from an instance hang;
What do you do when a user calls and says the system is slow or that they
can't connect; How to capture application SQL errors from the db
I was fortunate enough to do remote dba work for about 2 years, with
the databases being located up and down the east coast
Too bad that company had massive layoffs, and I was one of the
casualties...

I can testify to the relocation potential because I recently escaped the
