Hi folks ,
Is there anyone out there in the big wide orchid world using Skype free to
talk on your computer.
If so please let me know (Offline) so that we can perhaps chat.

Hello Rocky,
Regarding your question on the roots of catasetums.
I think that this is natures way of ensuring that the plants get all the
nourishment that they require when growing on trees etc. Whereas when they
are growing in pots, they receive all the food and water from their grower.
I have s
Hi Folks,
For all of you people who do flasking and or even dabble in flasking I have
a question.
Have you used or heard of anyone using colloidal silver as a means of
reducing contamination in the flasks.
Colloidal silver is reputedly very good at preventing bacterial
contamination but I do no
Hi Folks,
Has anyone else been missing any of the digests recently? I missed a couple
of odd ones then last week I have missed 182 and 183. As I have been with
the same ISP for several years without any problem and also as I have all
the digests from No.1 saved I wonder if something is going wro
Hi Folks,
Is anyone else missing any digests? Over the last few days I seem to have
missed a couple for no reason.
I received number 160 then missed number 161. Today I received number 170

Is there some problem?
Cheers,
Max.

Hi Folks,
I am looking for a source of Sobralia seed. Out here in Australia there are
very few people who grow them and consequently it is difficult to obtain
seed.
I have tried e-mailing several people in South America but have never even
received an answer.
As I am particularly keen on them I
Hi folks,
I seem to have missed digest no 37. The only one I have missed in several
years and I am wondering if perhaps there was a problem.
I sent an e-mail to the webmaster but I think it may have gone astray.
Any help welcome.
Thanks

Hi all,
I use sphagnum moss in a large number of pots and many different types.
However the main reason why the moss goes slimy is the use of chemical
fertilizer. I only use organic fertilizer and have no problems. A number of
people that I know who use chemical fertilizer are not able to grow i
not as yet been listed.

Hello all,
The question has been asked as to what to use and when to repot members of
the Cattleya alliance.
Out here in Australia there are almost as many different mixes as there are
members who grow them. However the most important thing to remember is that
the roots must be allowed to dry ou
Hi Folks,
Thanks to those who responded to my query about Brachiada x Ada. I am now
sure
that it should be 'Brassia brachiata x Ada aurantiaca.' Somewhere along the
way
the Brassia has been left off and the brachiata has been mispelled.
Thanks again
Max.

Hi Folks,
I have a plant which is called Brachiada X Ada. I can find no information
about this name nor can I find it amongst a list of species or hybrids.
Does anyone know anything about this particular cross?
It is quite possible that it was incorrectly spelt or written originally.
Thanks
Max
It seems to me that there is a lot of talk about problems with Zygos. This
of course may be caused partially by where you live or perhaps more
importantly, where you grow them.
Zygos require a cool temperature and will take the cold down to zero
degrees. I grow quite a few and they are grown under
Kenneth,
