Julie--
Careful there, Julie, having definite standards for grades might not be
fair to those who feel life is not fair to them!
How long will this class run? Are the class sessions every day of the week?
If so, could you go with morning announcements/evening news type things
each day?

Dear Judi,

Dear Judi,
thanks for sticking with me so patiently!
This is what I really cherish about the listserve!
So "transfer-in" has little to do with open space but is meant for
other processes, ok.
Here I have a whole bunch of questions around the role of the open
space-facilitator generated by your rema

Dear Glory,
sorry, I have no experience with open space in the classroom or in
designing a whole semester of work at a college.
What I am wondering about, though, is the wisdom of creating "some"
open space.
If one were to have an open space in the classroom, would you not
have to deal with such q

Greetings ~
I have some limited experience using OST in the classroom that might be
useful to others considering using this approach.
A colleague and I co-teach a university course for teachers called

Julie-- My stomach lurches at the SYSTEM of grading, not at your use of
it. You work within a system that uses grades. Perhaps when OST becomes
common practice in high school classrooms, the current grading system
will evolve to a higher level. I applaud the good work you are doing!

Dear Glory,
I think, between 1980 and 1995, after coming to normal school with my
alternative school experience I did quite a lot of what you would
nowadays (nearly ;-) call open space, when I was a science teacher at
university and secondary school.
I will just start to write about my approach, y
Dear Michael,
reading your answer to Glory after having written mine I notize, that
at that time we where not able to create the questions of the type,

That is a big difference. Due to the fact, that there is a lot of
OST-experience available now.
I was not clear about that until this
