Use the FreeText field already in OTRS. Don't add it to the database
yourself.
Have a look at the conversation with the subject: "Small Customization
of Customers and Tickets" I had before. It explains how to do this.

Why would you want to do that?
Why not just let them email problems without registrating them as customers?
I think it's possible to set a queue to public so anyone can email to it
without having to registrate first.

I believe if you check the queue settings in
"Queues" you can disable all customer notifications.

I know that OTRS 2.0 recommand perl 5.8 but I only have 5.6. There is
RPM for redgat 7.X and this distrib has perl 5.6 so why my question...
