Hi there everyone,
I have a friend who is a primip with a high head at 40+4 weeks. The

Hi Linda
I work with mums on the fears they may have about their birthing and often
they then relax, their uterus relaxes and bubs fit down nicely into the
pelvis. Often fears about birthing tighten all the birthing muscles in and
around the baby. They have listened to too many of the horror stori

Hi Linda
I have worked with many primigravidas who have had a high head at term,
mainly in the home setting, as those in hospital had intervention. We were
all taught that a high head at term meant that the babe's head was not going
to fit throught the woman's pelvis, but my, have I seen some mirac
For as long as I have been a midwife in QLD (20 yrs!!!
Heavens, has it been that long?). Whenever we have had the people from the unit
out to provide inservice from time to time, they have always asked us to fill

car

I have seen many a primip with a high head at the beginning of labour who has progressed and birthed well. One recent woman who comes to mind had a support person who was an acupuncturist and after a treatment she zoomed along and did exceptionally well. Bowen can work well too to help normalise t

Hi,
Was wondering what the difference is between 'carrying high' and the above
term.
I was told that I was breech and 'carrying high' with Nathaniel.
Am I right in assuming that I could have been given time to see if
Thanks Lynne

I'm not sure what everyone else thinks but I must say that while 'an abuser

Sonia,
While it is true that as babies get closer to term there is less space for
them to turn, it is certainly a possibility.
I had a client who carried breech from 33 weeks and remained this way until
the day before labour. She presented us with a delightful head down baby.

Hi Leigh,
The pools we currently use are made from panels of marine ply,
with these really strong plastic and steel hinges that hold the panels
together. There are about 12 panels from memory, and it comes apart into 3
concertinaed pieces, which you just hook together, and then stretch a p

Hi Annalise
Just a thought - how accurate were the EDC dates? I take more notice of the

A 'floating' high head is one which is able to be moved side to side by
somebody examining/palpating the woman's abdomen - it has not entered the
pelvic brim at all. This differs from high head in that the babes head might
be 'dipping' into the pelvis, it is not balottable (movable), but more than
