deaths in the studies had nothing to do with overdue, but had other reasons
What needs to be asked here is just how many still
births are we talking about? We
(mainly the doctors) PRIDE ourselves on having one of the lowest perinatal mortality
rates in the world and yet they are happy to suggest inductions at 39 weeks for
women to potentially save a few?

Hi everyone
I had an awesome day today and just have to share it with someone!! Just sharing a story with you, today i presented my speech about how the media influences the thinking and perception of birthing women (I posted awhile ago regarding references) to my fellow uni students and other 'mid
WHAT a lovely explanation of how to do a VE (if it is necessary). Our
medical colleagues would benefit from that description. Cheers, MM
I loved Ina May Gaskins approach to doing a VE. Put your fingers in and
then rest gently on the cervix. Don't do.. just wait a moment so that

A news story saying that Brian Peat, chief Ob at the Women's and Children's
hospital is considering recommending that all women be induced at 39 weeks,
given the evidence that babies over 39 weeks gestation are at high risk of
death and disability.
Oh dear...
That sort of comment can be taken to politicians
and the media if desired: that a professional would use blackmail and/or defamatory
comments to sway your choice. It
adds to Jenny Gambles comments about OB’s defaming midwives and midwifery
and the shit you would get in if you said it about
