You can create the sphere source, by selecting "Sphere" from the "Sources"

For the records:
The omission of the ctrl key was an oversight, item 6 should read:
6. Press and hold down Ctrl key, click and drag to select more points, release
Ctrl key.

Thank you for your help,

I've pushed a fix for this. It will be included in the next release

Is the omission of pressing/releasing the Ctrl key in your procedure an
oversight or intentional? Also, can you try with Sphere source -- exactly
how I described. If that works and something else doesn't, at least we'll
have a starting point. Right now, I have not been able to reproduce the

Can.ex2. I just selected cells on the base. Note that I was testing remote

sequence of actions in a clean paraview
1. Create Sphere
2. Hit Apply
3. Type "s", ParaView enters selection mode (Select Cells On)
4. Click and drag in the 3D view, some cells get selected.
5. Type "s", ParaView enters sele
That's right - too many irons in the fire. It has been marked as todo.

Bug 0013056, exists since 3.14. I am not sure if it worked with 3.12.0, but it
definitively works with 3.12.0-RC2, which I am still using for this very reason.
Thanks,
Matthias

Indeed, only 'select point/cell on' are supported and not select through. I'll
give it a more through test once I get back at office later this week.

I just tried to select multiple sets of points with the version
of ParaView on Fedora 17.
I was able to select multiple sets of points with the "Select Points On"
button but not with the "Se
Utkarsh,
I tried this on Linux, and it works fine.
I tried this windows (master pull from about last Friday, November 10), and it
does not work. Not sure if it is related, but my debug build outputs the
