have fiddled with every volume control i can find and it's no better. i have
noticed though, if i rip the audio from a dvd, the volume of the resulting
mp3 or which ever format, is much higher than it was when just playing

Hi Folks,
Around a year ago I had a conversation with the director of accessibility at
Panasonic in regards to making their products more accessible.
At that time the director invited blind persons to write with suggestions.
It has been a year now so yesterday I wrote Panasonic to see if there had
I don't want to make this message sound defeatist. I applaud your
efforts with Panasonic, really I do, but unfortunately none of what
the product manager wrote back is not news to us, or at least, it
shouldn't be. If a company can't find a way to mass-market something,
they're not going to make
Hi,
wow great communication.Take good care that your connection to this guy
doesn't break.
You could tell him that there's about 2 million blind persons in the world
and even more with low sight.
Also tell him that they could devellup an interface or some standards, so a
talking device could
Hi Ray. I think that if possible, all the Panasonic products should be
accessible to the blind.

Hi,
Well done. I suggested a product that SONY producedand is selling in large
enough quantities around the world.
I wish we had this man's address or contact information.
I would liketo see a multi DVD player with some indication for where the
focus lands when down arrowing through features
Hi Steve. You make a good point, but it seems like the blind have gotten on
well using things like the Zenith Talking VCR. Of course, I hear that they
don't make those any more, but I have one, and it works well for me. If
that product can be produced, it seems like something like a talking

Hi folks
I just returned to the list after a long absence, so it's cool to be back
here. Since I just got back, I haven't seen any messages, but I wanted to
see if anyone had heard about the upcoming Ipod Shuffle, and if it could
possibly be accessible.
I'm sure that the unit itself is

of everything Apple by flying in the face of convention and buying
someone else's product.

Hi Steve
I'd love to, believe me man. But I saw the price on it and I was like oh
man it sure would be nice to get something so nice for so cheap.
Unfortunately, all the other players, at least that I've seen, are around
$300 to $350 and I just can't afford something like that at the moment.
Can you go through the blindtech archives. Someone just posted something about
some third party software for transfering but I deleted it too fast.

I just read about the new Victor Classic and Classic Plus firmware version
3.0. The most notable changes for me are (1) ability to play OGG Vorbis
files, and (2) ability to handle nested directory structures. The complete
list of changes is below:
Version 3.0.7 is the latest firmware release
Hi Steve. Thanks for that.

I can see I'm going to have to do a bit of research on this, but I was
under the impression that the iPod shuffle was a flash memory based MP3
player and it cost around $100. I've heard one of the controversial
issues about the iPod Shuffle is that it has no display, making some
wonder how
