Dealing With MP3s

ripping with Nero:

I've looked at each component's title and I can't determine which I should try looking at to rip files. I also don't see an index in their help files to bring up information like rip, ripping or conversion. The helps files are just a loose collection of pdf files. Any help would be appreciated.

Configuring an HP a1560n xp media center for Recording

I have been spending the better part of today attempting to configure my xp media center a1560n for recording with MP3 Directcut. No matter how I set MP3 DirectCut or the settings on the record side of sndvol32, all I get are blank recordings. I feel stupid, but I am obviously missing something.
