Success! It worked! This all started when this particular tune wouldn't
play in one of the music rooms at a site called VIP Conduit! I had heard
that, sometimes by changing the bit rate, a file would then play! Oh but I
never knew how to do it (I know some people have "Gold Wave"..and do fil

Once you you have the file in total recorder do the folowing:
1. open the file menu alt f
2. press a for save as
3. tab to change and enter
4. choose the format you wish then enter on ok
5. enter on the save button.

Let me ask you this, do you know what is the file extention that you are
trying to open in Total Recorder?
Do you know where the file is saved and how to navigate to the file when you
use the Open File option under the file menu?
Is your copy of Total Recorder a Registered copy?

I'm talking about a file that I have on my external hard drive; I have it in
a folder..what I'd like to do is to change the bit rate. But how do I
connect it with "Total Recorder?" This file is in no way connected with
Total Recorder. Hopefully I have cleared this up!

well, one major difference is that one can record skype calls. but it's
wierd, I can record and it will pickup event sounds, jaws, but not winamp or
windows media player.

Another way is to get the dirlist program from
www.jfwlite.com
You run this program on a folder and it creates a text file with a list of
whatever is in that folder. then you need only change the extention to m3u.
