Don't want to repeat myself over and over smile but for the price you can't really go past the Zoom H1 recorder which is available for under $100.00 if you look around, I've had mine now for nearly 3 years and just wouldn't do without it, I use it to record everything from live good quality

The Olympus models with voice guidance are probably the most accessible general-market recorders. I have the LS7. The LS100 is also very good. - Original Message - From: dennis dennis...@gmail.com To: PC audio discussion list. pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Tuesday, August 20, 2013 4:20

There's no doubting that Voice Guidance is a help to some people. The Zoom H1 is perfectly accessible, doesn't have voice guidance but is a lot cheaper! If you know how to operate a casette recorder than you can easily operate a Zoom H1, just press the Record button and recording starts, press

Yeah, I'd go with the Olympus ones. Even the LS-7 might do since you don't seem to be too demanding on sound quality. I recommend this one since it does 96 KHZ 24 Bit. So does the H1 but my problem is you can't pause whilst recording. -Original Message- From: Pc-audio

Before making a final decision, I'd listen to some of the podcasts that Neal Ewers has done on portable recorders. He's blind, and has reviewed recorders by Olympus, Sony, Zoom, etc. - Original Message - From: dennis dennis...@gmail.com To: PC Audio Discussion List

hey! I myself would go for the olympus sl14, cause it has very long battery life. and if I can get one I'd save my zoom h1 for other things. Regards, Jörgen Hansson! Tel: +46 70-3601296 Website: www.jorgenhansson.com Skype: djtropical4532 -Ursprungligt meddelande- From: dennis Sent:

in my opinion 96.1 khz 24 kbps is overkill for most recording since humans can't even hear above about 20 khz. in - Original Message - From: Hamit Campos hamitcam...@gmail.com To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Tuesday, August 20, 2013 6:04 PM Subject: RE:

Maybe so. Is it just me though? I could hear a wider stereo image in 24 bit. The clarity maybe not so much. All though remember I did these recordings on a laptop's built in audio. Not an LS-100. Most dephinitly not a Sound Devices 700 recorder. -Original Message- From: Pc-audio

Also, if there really were no point at all, then why even make them? HD movies on BDs are 24 bit, and I hear something in those by the way, and I know sony said on a tutorial for SF that it's to capture more info or capture the info more acuritlyor completely? But why waist the space then? But I

Ah problem is, well as far as the newest ones go anyways, they are gone. The old ones I had seen there on BCT but Larry told me at the NFB convention that they are now gone too. He's threw with BCT. Maybe that's a bit of a strong way to put it, but that's what I took from all what he said.
