Hello Cris: Just to bring you up-to-speed (and for the other listers too) I
had some problems with Internet Explorer, which, from what I understand,
where caused by the Windows Update that I ran last week; a security patch
needed to be disabled. So I was advised to go into MSconfig..and take care
well all of that makes sense, but remember, there are lots of sound cards
out there and he may not see those choices you mention if he's got a
different card. I missed the beginning of the thread, so I'm wondering if,
at any point, were the cables connecting the speakers unhooked, and then

Aw..but what if I don't have that ddisk (like I'm thinking that I don't) am
I then just screwed? Another thing..I'm not seeing anything in the volume
control properties that says, "Stereo Mixer!" Am I supposed to??and if
not..what must I do to get that back? Thanks for suggestions ahead of time;
There two possible problems assuming the speaker cables are good and
properly connected.
1: in volume controls, under properties, you may have checked the mute for
stereo mixer but not for mono. Second, in the audio settings for speaker
set up, you may have the wrong speaker choice checked. T

Um..still lost! First, the "sound card" is in the computer; it's an "on
board" deal; a Crystall DMW Audio..if that means anything to you! Gee!

hi tom in the control panel, there is something called sounds and multi media
if I remember correctly in windows me.
look at the there should be an audio property sheet in there, go to advanced
settings and this will land you at the speaker settings select stereo and that
should sort it.
