Aw..but what if I don't have that ddisk (like I'm thinking that I don't) am I then just screwed? Another thing..I'm not seeing anything in the volume control properties that says, "Stereo Mixer!" Am I supposed to??and if not..what must I do to get that back? Thanks for suggestions ahead of time;

There two possible problems assuming the speaker cables are good and properly connected. 1: in volume controls, under properties, you may have checked the mute for stereo mixer but not for mono. Second, in the audio settings for speaker set up, you may have the wrong speaker choice checked. T

hi tom in the control panel, there is something called sounds and multi media if I remember correctly in windows me. look at the there should be an audio property sheet in there, go to advanced settings and this will land you at the speaker settings select stereo and that should sort it. hth -
