When I listen to them, I hear a lot of distortion or
crackling when I have the audio up full. It is difficult to
get it at a comfortable level

If you play these files on-line from Youtube, how is the sound thenm?
Do you think that the distortion is being introduced when the files
are converted?
I haven't had any excperience with these youtube stream rippers or
