Tim,
You could end the task in task manager.
control-alt-delete should bring up the task manager, use the tab key to
get to the applications tab, then find the application totalrec.exe or
what ever it is called, then end task.
Shouldn't need to do this, but it will unload total rec.

problem i'm having is that when I try closing the program it doesn't completely
close and sits on the task bar. if i try going to it on the task bar and using
a shift plus function key 10 to close it it won't close.
Yeah, I wrote to the developer about that, what you're seeing is apparently
perfectly normal.

I will say that while total Recorder is easy to use, as part of the
Sound Computing series, for a total of $9.00, you get fifty audio
tutorials/articles and four of them are instructions for setting up
and using total Recorder.

you must start a Total Recorder recording first before the source you

Dean: My immediate thought would be that it's got something to do with the
soundcard. But that doesn't make sense..because I can listen to things that
are presented in stereo..and they do come through that way!

Kevin,
Are you using software speech? If so, you have to realize that the stream
is one sound source and the total recorder driver essentially acts as the
second one. If you were able to use JAWS speech while running Total
Recorder through Eloquence or whatever your software speech, you would

I very much like Total Recorder. I notice no problems with its sound

Well Dean..have you ever had Total Recorder not record in stereo..as..a

recording in mono! Haven't done anything with it of late. But every time
Joanne I have had total recorder for 2 years and I love it. I only have
the standard version. I have it set up to record and convert to MP3 on

convert to MP3. Marty Rimpau is one person you should contact to give
you
the length
of recording time and that goes from 15 seconds up to 15 hours.

Hi, Kevin, first, make sure in the record source parameters dialog,
that the radio button selected is software, and not sound board, or
what ever the second button is called, then, you will probably want to
convert on the fly to mp3, and to do this, check the check box that

As for recording in stereo, since most of what I record is spoken word
material, I confess to not having tackled that issue. Perhaps one of the
other Total Recorder users can comment on whether they have succeeded in
making a stereo recording.
