The f.no. calculation assumes that the lens is a simple design, eg. a
single element or more likely a symmetrical design such as view cameras
use. In practice a lot of long lenses are of the telephoto design which
means they have a teleconverter built in.
I bet the front element of this lens is
For what it is worth, Popular photography has got the following lab
test results for the MZ-S viewfinder:
Magnification: 0,77x (PZ1P 0,86x)
Coverage: 93,3% (PZ1P 86,9%)
Both MZ-S values are better as specified.
As the question goes, I'd buy new MZ-S body. What the heck, I just
did. :) So my nex

I think Knut is concerned that the WEB page archive is not up to date.
The DIGEST version of the PDML works just fine.

Yes. Sometimes using a smaller aperture (stopping down) will correct or
minimize the problem.

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can purchase a powered, motorized barn door tracker
for a 35mm camera? Are such things sold commercially? know I can make a
manual one, but I'd rather just get one and use it.

Can slide film be developed in B&W chemistry? I'm not looking for good
quality images, but just curious to know if an image will come up at
all. Any pointers or comments on this?

Shel,
Indeed you are an old fart. Certainly, comparisons are relative. The
SuperProgram in design, was the last of the manual focus bodies, so
has more of the "old" Pentax feel to it. After that they made the FS,
PZ and ZX series. The SuperProgram feels more like the ME, MX side of
the family
Hi Bruce ...
Mark had a Super program for a while, and I had a chance to fool around
with it a little. Indeed, it is similar to the ME series, although I
didn't think it felt quite as solid. It does have some nice features to
it, and I can see why people may think it's something of a classic.
