With the SMC Takumar lenses, a Spotmatic F can meter at open aperture.
That means you can focus and get your meter reading without having to
stop down the lens manually. You just meter, focus, and shoot. With
earlier Super Takumar lenses, you have to push a switch that stops the
lens down in order

For one you need to use SMC Takumars so you can meter wide open instead of
stopped down if you use older Super Takumar lenses. I have an "F" but like
to use the ES or ESII that meter wide open with the SMC Takumars.
My favorite SMC lens I use on my ES cameras is the 35mm f2. I also like the

I used the 55/1.8 for a while its a excellent lense, the SMC50/1.4 is also
excellent. I would assume that the 85mm is good, as the SMC version is the
same optically as the K85/1.8?

took two MZ-S's to Mali, one with the FA 24-90 and the other with the

I finally got around to doing a quick scan of some images taken during the
get together in May at Roosevelt Island in the Potomac River. That was

I can't complait by the delivery time. I got the camera in one week. What
bothers me the most is having to pay 2 levels of taxes on used equipment.

I have a Pentax 928 IQ Zoom which is a pretty capable camera. I think
it's been superceded by a newer version. The focal range is from 28mm -
90mm, which seems just perfect for most group shots and portraits. I
