I'll see Godfrey and John today, and maybe that can be discussed a little.
I think you Mac guys have some different options, at least wrt those shown
in the Nikon scanner profiles options. Thanks for getting this topic going
a bit ... while it's been discussed here before, there's always new ideas
Yes. I think there is a gamut called pro rgb or something like that. In
fact, I think there are hundreds of color space gamuts, but some are
device specific. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable will contribute
here. I'm trying to sort some of this out for myself. I'm not sure
what color space I
especially since Adobe RGB is a good match for higher end inkjet printers.
personally, the only outsourced printing i do is to custom archival inkjet
printing and the printer i use prefers Adobe RGB.

OK, that makes sense. But then, by the same token, wouldn't it make just
as much sense to scan using a profile with an even wider gamut?

If you scan in Adobe RGB and save your original, you'll have all that
information available. You won't lose anything by converting to sRGB.
Then, if you someday decide to output to a device that takes a wide
gamut, you'll have your original scan in wide gamut color space.

Don,
I own and use both.
Bought the PZ-1 first and still like it better for slides.
Flash compensation is easier with the PZ-1p, but rarely used by me.
Frames per second is a bit faster on the PZ-1p also...
Overall, they feel identical and are identical to use.

Peter,
On my *istD I use Hoodskins by Hoodman. They are self sticking covers
that protect from scratching. I have heard that the Pro SLR Cap also by
Hoodman is a good product (I haven't used it yet but intend to). It is a
plastic cover that sticks to the body and protects against knocks to the
Yes, that's possible. I can scan in numerous color spaces, but what's the
point of using Adobe RGB if I'm going to be outputting to sRGB. Wouldn't
it make more sense to use the same color space from beginning to end?
Remember, I'm not making inkjet prints, so, from what I understand, the

Hi Shel,
Can you set up your scanner to yield Adobe RGB color space? I think
you're clipping some of the gamut by outputting to sRGB.

Hi Godfrey,
Well, it's good to know we have an informed Apple resource on the list
:-). While you're here, I have a question. I'm printing with colorsynch
and getting very good results, printing to an Epson 2200. When I first
selected Colorsynch Worklflow in my PhotoShop color settings panel, it
