Hi all,
Has anyone had an istD CLA'd? Mine seems to need some attention. The
plastic display cover is cracked, and I suspect the focus is not as

There's a world of difference.
The K1000 was a very basic camera. It had what is necassary - nothing more.
An excellent beginner/student camera. Basic and reliable.
Not even a DOF preview stop down (Well, I know it did - but
unintentionally).
The K10D is loaded with extraordenary features. Two new

Hi Joe,
Sounds like a nice trip.
You can send your 21mm to the Lens Spa here @ Casa Belinkoff, where it will
be pampered, given plenty of sunshine, and not used to make any difficult
photos.

Dynamic range!
Or is it smooth gradations?
At any rate, congrats to Pentax for releasing what looks to be a simply
splendid camera with the K10D - at an amazing price - let's hope it
lives up to the specs. And that the new 2.8 hyper-super-sonic zooms are
equally reasonable.
And is it just m
You are missing the fact that the holes in this case is not in
molecules but in crystals having energy gaps corresponding to certain
energy levels, so they can move around a bit and get excited by both
phonons (e.g, thermal) and photons. Now, lets all jump into
reciprocal space to look at

This is an exceptionally useful thread.
I try to relate the kit to her grandchildren. Thus the 300m FA was
ideal for candid pics of them playing in the garden taken from the
house. The 12-24 was useful for close ups without them being aware
that they were in the frame.

I routinely make a DNG copy of my PEF's to CD, and I haven't been able to
detect any loss of quality as a result. The advantage of a 2030% reduction
in storage requirements seems significant to me!
The converter from Adobe will do the whole lot for you quite automatically,
but it is important t

Especially since they mis-read the specs for the AF assist beam,
and fitted a high-powered nose-mounted laser instead ...
I think Sarah Jane has the only remaining model, though.

All about DNG ... probably comments on every question you have about DNG
and some you've not even thought about. Barry is a proponent of the DNG
concept and, by coincidence, is also a Pentax user.

Yeah, that caveat's been posted in a few venues. However, there are now
quite a few programs that allow processing or conversion to DNG files,
including Pentax's free program.
