What a lovely lens. Small and buttery-smooth. The rubberised focus ring doesn't feel as classy as the SLI metal rings, but that's about my only niggle. I know it isn't considered a macro lens, but it sure performs well close up. And the bokeh is scrumptious. http://members.iinet.net.au/~derby

I believe this was discussed recently. I took 10 slides to the local Costco. They scanned and put on cd for 2.90, including the cd. The images are about 2100 dpi, avg 3.2 meg each file. JPEG only unfortunately. However, the quality was excellent. I thought I was getting ok results from my HP scan
