IIRC, Pentax has been accused of the same. It has been maintained
somewhere that Pentax actually writes the chosen WB into the raw file
data in addition to giving info on the temperature/tint values
applied. However I cannot recall the source of this information, so
take it as hearsay unless someon

for free. However that might violate your EULA with Microsoft.

Well, badly underexposed images are going to suck for noise. very poor
test subject, guaranteed to have noise issues.
I wouldn't consider those images as a good test of the 450D/XSi's
noise performance. At worst it's an indictment of its metering.

cable in to DL the pics, I get a message
on the computer saying that the USB port is overloaded, I tried it on
another machine too, same thing :(((

If you got it cheap enough, I'd just ignore the USB port entirely and
use a card reader instead. The only time I ever used the USB port of
a Pentax DSLR was to see if the Pentax Remote Assistant worked with
the K10D. It worked, that was the last time I plugged it in.

Steve, i have 6 dlsr's and have never plugged them in to a computer.
Sandisk usb 2 card reader(six kinds i think) and works great.

Yes it still lives. She likes to watch the squirrels in the back yard,
never really chases them, just half hearted.
