That reminds me of Melbourne Aquarium when the keepers were adding snow to the
penguin enclosure using a big hose like that. The penguins didn't seem fazed
by the human presence. I took photos but they didn't turn out very well.

The 16-45 is my most-used lens by far. It's fairly compact, not too heavy,
sharp, and versatile. It would be nice to have another stop, but not at the
expense of more size and weight. Fortunately the files from the K-5 shot at
ISO 6400 clean up pretty nicely.

is mostly blue - maybe an artifact of having the multi while balance
featured enabled

I was at the summit of Mauna Loa only once, in July, and there was a
bit of ice up there still. I wasn't clear enough to see Maui that
day, although I caught a glimpse from Kohala once.

haze the builds up in more distant areas. The flow of the river, shape
of the left show and the boats heading in generally the same direction
gives it a sense of movement and focus. Make me want to head out into

It was partially uphill both ways, it was also partially downhill both
ways, it's easier walking uphill IMHO, even in snow. Down hill it's
much easier to sled.
